My 2020 790 R recently crossed 2000 kms, and its now overheating badly on anything mildly technical . It was 14° (C) today, and the bike stopped multiple times (on hill climbs) due to overheating. For context, I've ridden the same trails (for years) on my 990 in much higher temps (+30 C°) and never had an issue. View attachment 2237503
S1jS5. On the 790 I run a Scotts with a TripleClampMoto submount and KTM dirt bike handlebars. Light, simple, effective. *shrug* IMHO the sheer mass of the 790 goes along way to absorbing hits before it makes it's way to the handlebars and I don't find the bike vibey at the handlebars so the isolation is just more than I need. YMMV.
790 Adventure R starts but then cuts out. Bike has never had any issues and has always been a good starter (hot or cold) but today it will start but then the engine stops after 5 seconds or so. After maybe three attempts it ticks over as normal. Fuel pump runs when the ignition is switched on, but then stops after 10-20 seconds.

The tech package is hard to pass up for $500. I canât imagine youâd regret it in the long run. If you donât get those electronics activate youâll probably always wonder about the potential of the bike thatâs locked away. If you canât swing it right now, you can always unlock it with your dealer at a late date.
